EWI Installation in Bristol
Suitability for External Wall Insulation
Once the building has been deemed suitable for EWI improvement works then the following process will be implemented.
A surveyor will come to site and record all openings and features on the elevations of the wall. The typical details the surveyor will be looking for are listed below.
- Soffit Detail
- Window Openings
- Rainwater Pipework
- Drainage Pipework
- Extract Fan Terminations
- Boiler Flues
- Door Opening
- DPC level at the base of the wall
- Satellite Dishes
- Cabling
- External Pipework
- Electrical Outlets Lights/Sockets
- Intruder Alarm
- CCTV
- Door Numbers/Names
- Porch Roofs/Abutment Roofs
- The Finish at the base of the wall
- Width of paths and access
- Photographs of each elevation and access
- Any other item attached to the wall
Once the surveyor has measured the wall and all of the above features are denoted on each elevational record drawing, the elevational survey will be deemed complete.
The surveyor will then be required to record the access ability. The scaffolding will need to be carefully measured for and any obstacles accounted for. This includes unprotected power lines as these will need protection.
The tenant/building owner etc will then be given a date for installation works to commence. Scaffolding will be erected prior to the install and taken down once the installation has been completed and checked.
After the works are finished the sites will be left clean and all the rubbish removed.
Welfare facilities will be provided by us for the duration of the on-site works for our operatives.
All Risk Assessments and Method Statements will be adhered too, and our operatives will be wearing suitable Personal Protective Equipment for the project.
